India mourns shooting legend Jaspal Rana's sudden death at 49

he Indian sporting fraternity was left shocked on Friday following the sudden death of celebrated shooter and coach Jaspal Rana at 49. A Padma Shri awardee and three-time Asian Games gold medallist, Rana reportedly fell ill in Munich, Germany, where he had accompanied the Indian team for the ISSF World Cup. He was taken to a hospital in Delhi upon landing but succumbed to cardiac complications.
Starting as one of India's most accomplished shooters, Rana later emerged as one of the country's most influential coaches, playing a key role in the rise of Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker and several other top pistol shooters.
Tributes poured in from across the sporting world. Olympic champion Abhinav Bindra called it a "huge loss" for Indian shooting, while former cricketers Gautam Gambhir and Shikhar Dhawan remembered Rana as a champion, mentor and inspiration....
