India, May 27 -- On Saturday, sprinter Gurindervir Singh,25, created history as he broke the men's 100m national record by clocking a sensational 10.09 seconds at the National Senior Athletics Federation Competition in Ranchi, becoming the first Indian athlete to ever breach the 10.10-second barrier. Watching him explode off the blocks felt like a throwback to the era of late legendary sprinter Milkha Singh aka Flying Sikh. Singh's legacy now echoes in Gurindervir's explosive runs. Behind the record, however, are years of discipline and routine. Gurindervir says his willpower has played a key role in his rise. "It is the little wins that win you the big moments.
