India, Oct. 13 -- Producer Ektaa R Kapoor has confirmed that The Dirty Picture 2 is in the works, 15 years after the first instalment was released in 2011. Speaking to Ranveer Allahbadia on his podcast, the 51-year-old revealed that she has finally found a story she wants to tell, though the sequel's cast, director and release date are yet to be announced. During the same conversation, Ektaa also reflected on a difficult phase in her career, describing 2008 as her "worst year" professionally. "That year was really bad for me professionally. Mental health-wise it was bad because I was not able to grapple with that," she said. She also added that the Covid period and navigating motherhood in 2021-2022 were even more mentally challenging. Acknowledging that overconfidence contributed to her mistakes, Ektaa said, "I didn't respect the professionals who came in at that time."
