Carlos Alcaraz serves 'Nipplegate 2.0'
India, Sept. 3 -- Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz returned to singles action at the US Open on Monday after a 139-day injury layoff, but his game was not the only thing drawing attention.
The 23-year-old, a seven-time Grand Slam champion, kept giving fans an eyeful as his brown, basketball jersey-style tank top shifted during his first-round match against Russian player Roman Safiullin at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York. Alcaraz won 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.
Images and clips of the wardrobe malfunction circulated on social media, with some users calling it 'Nipplegate 2.0', a reference to American pop star Janet Jackson's infamous 2004 Super Bowl halftime-show wardrobe incident. Former Canadian tennis player and ESPN analyst Eugenie Bouchard also reacted on X, writing: "Love you Carlos, but we've got to put the nip away."
