India, June 5 -- A day after rumours of an upcoming wedding began circulating, actor-producer Aamir Khan confirmed that he will marry partner Gauri Spratt next month. "The news about the marriage is true. It's on July 5," Aamir told Variety. Earlier, the actor had said that marriage was not something the couple actively thought about. Explaining the change, he said, "Yes, that is true. But now we both feel we are ready to take our relationship to the next level. I am at peace. Gauri and I are serious about each other and we are in a very committed space. We are partners, we are together. In my heart, I'm already married to her. So, to formalise our togetherness just seems like a natural progression of our partnership." Aamir publicly introduced Gauri as his partner for the first time during his 60th birthday celebrations in Mumbai on March 14 last year. At the time, the actor had said he was "already married" to her in his heart and that they were enjoying each other's company. Since then, the couple has made several public appearances together. Gauri is from Bengaluru and works in the wellness and beauty sector. Aamir, 61, was previously married to Reena Dutta for 16 years, with whom he has two children, Junaid, 32, and Ira, 29.
