A Diwali of light, craft and giving back
India, Nov. 4 -- As the festival of lights draws near, celebrations are taking on a deeper, more meaningful glow across the city. Beyond the sparkle of traditional decor and the bustle of card parties, the festive season is also about conscious choices and inclusive craftsmanship.
One special initiative was led by ITC Grand Central, Mumbai, which hosted the event 'Light That Gives Back' on November 2, in collaboration with Cheshire Homes India, Mumbai, Child Help Foundation NGO and Camp Kaleido by Finland International School.
The event showcased the creative talents of visually challenged children, with clay diyas made by them put up for sale. The proceeds went towards the work of Cheshire Homes India and Child Help Foundation NGO. Built around the thought, 'Every diya holds a story. Every purchase carries a purpose', the campaign aimed to give the children's work greater visibility while encouraging people to make purposeful festive purchases.
There was also an engaging storytelling activity conducted by Taali Food - High Five Snacking, the event's gifting partner, which highlighted healthy snacking and mindful food choices during the festive season.
