'I don't want to wastE the prime of my career'
India, July 31 -- A
fter spending nearly a year away from work recovering from two back surgeries following an on-set injury, actor Aayush Sharma is back in front of the camera. As he resumes shooting for Ragini 3 and another project, Aayush says the forced break has only reinforced his desire to work.
"I have enjoyed a lot of me-time, as for one year, I was simply sitting at home recovering. What I want today is a packed calendar; being on a set doing some work is far better than sitting home doing nothing, and just thinking," he shares.
The time away from work has also prompted him to reflect on his career so far. The 35-year-old says, "In seven years I just did three films and that's nowhere near a good score. More of my work should have been out there. I don't want to waste the prime time of my career."
In Ragini 3, Aayush will share screen space with Tamannaah Bhatia. Speaking about working alongside her, he says, "I am up against a very talented actor; I have to up my moves and craft. Dua kar raha hoon ki mere dance steps match ho jayein!"
While audiences and industry colleagues have their opinions on his performances, Aayush says his most candid critics are at home - his children, Ahil, 10, and Ayat, 6. "My kids are the best counsellors and critics; they tell me kya chal raha hai around the world, from anime to music. Many of my songs are on my phone and my daughter often watches them. She was the one who pointed out, 'Why you take out your shirt always?'" he laughs....
