'Becoming a mum has made me appreciate my own mother'
India, May 13 -- Actor Shivaleeka Oberoi Pathak, who recently welcomed her first child, a baby girl, with filmmaker-husband Abhishek Pathak earlier this month, says motherhood changed her in ways she is still discovering every day.
Recalling the moment she first held her baby, Shivaleeka shares, "I remember looking at her tiny face and feeling this instant, unconditional love that's impossible to explain unless one experiences it. It felt like my heart had stepped outside my body."
Sharing one of her most special moments with her daughter, she adds, "When she looked into my eyes for the first time, it was almost like time stood still." The 30-year-old further confesses that her husband, despite his ongoing work commitments, has been a strong support system: "He has been very present and involved as a partner and father, which has meant a lot to me."
The actor, who was last seen in Khuda Haafiz: Chapter 2 - Agni Pariksha (2022), says becoming a mother has also changed the way she now sees her own parents. "I suddenly realised the kind of sacrifices, sleepless nights and emotional strength it must have taken to raise us back then. There are so many little things mothers do silently that one truly understands once they experience motherhood themselves," Shivaleeka says, adding, "I grew up hearing 'Jab khud maa banegi toh samjhegi' from my mum throughout, and now I finally understand what she meant."...
