Sri Lanka, Feb. 25 -- A 27-year-old man died following a motorcycle crash on the Sippukulama-Galenbindunuwewa road in the Mihintale police area, according to police reports.

The incident occurred last night (24) in the Paluwewa area. A motorcycle travelling from Sippukulama toward Galenbindunuwewa veered off the road and struck a tree after the rider lost control of the vehicle.

Two individuals were travelling on the motorcycle at the time of the crash. Both the rider and the pillion passenger were admitted to the Thammannawa Hospital with injuries, where the rider later succumbed. The deceased is identified as a 27-year-old resident of Sippukulama.

Mihintale Police are conducting further investigations into the matter.
