Sri Lanka, Aug. 9 -- A motorcyclist died in a fatal road incident last night (08), on the Mathawa Hamanagoda road in the Giriulla police division.

Police state that the mishap occurred when a motorcycle riding towards Mathawa in the Pahala Katugampala area on the Mathawa Hamanagoda road failed to control its speed and collided with the rear part of the trailer of a tractor travelling ahead of it.

Although the motorcyclist who sustained serious injuries was admitted to the Dambadeniya Hospital, it is reported that he was dead on admission.

The deceased is being identified as 22-year-old youth residing in Dambadeniya.

Further investigations are carried out by the Giriulla police.
