Sri Lanka, June 27 -- A youth has died, and another has been seriously injured following a road incident where two motorcycles collided head-on and subsequently struck by a tipper truck.

Polonnaruwa Police stated that the deceased is a 29-year-old resident of Siripura, Namalgama, while the injured person is 31 years old.

The injured youth is currently receiving treatment at the Polonnaruwa General Hospital.

According to the Police, the incident occurred this morning (27) in the Athumalpitiya area on the Polonnaruwa-Hingurakgoda road.

The incident took place around 7.30 a.m. when a motorcycle travelling from Polonnaruwa towards Hingurakgoda collided with another motorcycle travelling in the opposite direction.
