Sri Lanka, Oct. 18 -- A young man who was allegedly attempting to flee the country after allegedly trying to commit a homicide in the Borella area was arrested last night (October 17) by officers of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at the Katunayake International Airport, Police Headquarters stated.
Police Headquarters reported that the suspect was identified using the face recognition data system installed at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).
The suspect is a 25-year-old resident of the Borella area.
Police stated that the suspect was wanted for the offence of attempted homicide by shooting a person in the Borella Police Division on August 22 this year.
