Sri Lanka, July 13 -- Sri Lanka's inward workers remittances dropped by roughly 21.8% in June, recording $695 million in inward remittances for the month, down from the $847 million posted in May, Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) data shows.

This represents a decrease of $152 million in worker remittances compared to the previous month. Central Bank data further reveals that cumulative remittances sent to the country by migrant workers from January to June 2026 reached $4.6 billion, marking a 23.2% increase compared to the corresponding period in the previous year.
