Sri Lanka, May 3 -- A 55-year-old woman lost her life yesterday (02) following a wild elephant attack in the Puravaniadiuttu area within the Vellaveli police division. The deceased was a resident of the Thikkodiya area.

Initial investigations reveal that the victim encountered the wild elephant suddenly after stepping out of her home. She died at the scene due to the severity of her injuries. Vellaveli Police initiated an investigation after receiving information about the incident. A post-mortem examination is scheduled for the body, and police continue further inquiries into the matter.
