Sri Lanka, Sept. 19 -- A 37-year-old woman has died following a collision between the motorbike she was riding and a van carrying a group of Indian tourists towards Nuwara Eliya, according to the Nanu Oya Police.

The victim, a resident of Nanu Oya, sustained severe injuries in the crash and was admitted to the Nuwara Eliya District General Hospital, where she later passed away.

The accident occurred around 10.00 a.m. today (19) near the Nanu Oya railway bridge on the Hatton-Nuwara Eliya main road.

Nanu Oya Police stated that reckless driving by the driver of the van caused the crash, which resulted in extensive damage to both vehicles.
