Sri Lanka, Aug. 17 -- A 53-year-old resident of Ambanpola has died after being attacked by a wild elephant.

According to police, the man was trying to drive the elephant away from his land when the attack occurred.

The victim was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries but later succumbed to them while receiving treatment.

Ambanpola Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
