Sri Lanka, Oct. 12 -- The Director-General of the World Health Organisation (WHO), Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, arrived in Sri Lanka today (October 12) to attend the 78th WHO Regional Committee Session for South-East Asia, often referred to as the South-East Asia Regional Health Summit.
Dr. Tedros landed at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) this morning at 9:40 AM on a flight from Doha.
He was officially received by Dr. Anil Jasinghe, Secretary to the Ministry of Health and Mass Media.
The WHO Director-General is scheduled to participate as the chief guest at the high-level meeting, which will take place in Colombo from tomorrow until October 15.
