Sri Lanka, July 26 -- A Sub-Inspector (SI) attached to the Wathupitiwala Investment Zone Police Post, who addressed the public contrary to the police code of discipline has been suspended, Police Media Spokesperson Assistant Superintendent of Police F.U. Wootler said today (26).

The Police Media Spokesperson mentioned that this officer was immediately interdicted over the relevant incident, and a disciplinary inquiry commenced.

Police say the incident has occured around 10.45 am on July 23 in front of a private institution located near the Wathupitiwala Hospital.

Police also mention that it appeared the behaviour of the relevant officer brings disrepute to the Sri Lanka Police and the entire public service, establishing a bad precedent...
