Sri Lanka, Oct. 20 -- The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has commenced a 30 hour water cut that affects several parts of the Galle District starting from 8:00 a.m. today (20).

The planned interruption is necessary for essential repair work on the primary pipeline linked to the Hapugala Water Treatment Plant.

The water supply will not be restored until 2:00 p.m. tomorrow (21).

The areas slated to experience this suspension include Bope, Poddala, Akmeemana, and Rathgama, as confirmed by the Water Board.

Residents in these locations are advised to manage their water consumption accordingly during the extensive stoppage.
