Sri Lanka, Aug. 25 -- The water capacity of Hurulu Wewa, a major irrigation reservoir in Anuradhapura, has dropped further due to the prevailing dry weather conditions.

Water release for agricultural activities during the previous Yala season was halted on the 3rd of this month.

At that time, the water capacity of Hurulu Wewa stood at around 15,750 acre-feet, but it has now decreased to 14,895 acre-feet.

Meanwhile, the total water capacity of Hurulu Wewa is recorded at 55,000 acre-feet.
