Sri Lanka, Oct. 25 -- The Deputy Director of the Disaster Management Department for the Kurunegala District, Viraj Dissanayake, warns that there is an increasing risk of tornado conditions affecting the Kurunegala District due to recent weather changes.

Dissanayake stated that over the past few days, several areas in the Kurunegala District have experienced tornadoes amid the current adverse weather, resulting in property damage.

Specifically, a tornado struck the Kobaigane area yesterday (24).

In the preceding days, tornadoes also affected Wariyapola twice, as well as Narammala and Nikaweratiya.

The damages reported include: 93 houses in Wariyapola, 16 houses in Nikaweratiya, and 7 houses in Kobeygane. The majority of these damages a...
