Sri Lanka, Oct. 26 -- The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning for strong winds covering the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, Northern, North-Central, and North Western Provinces, as well as the Trincomalee and Batticaloa Districts.

The department stated that due to the depression persisting in the Southeast Bay of Bengal, these provinces and districts may experience strong winds gusting between 50 and 60 kmph from time to time.

Furthermore, fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75 mm is possible in many areas this afternoon.
