Sri Lanka, Sept. 25 -- Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath is set to leave the country today (25) to attend the 81st United Nations General Assembly session.

The ministry announced that the minister will deliver a statement during the United Nations General Assembly general debate in New York, America, on the 28th.

The visit aims to present the country's foreign policy priorities and Sri Lanka's stance on global issues to the international community.

The minister also plans to meet with foreign ministers from several countries and high-ranking United Nations officials to strengthen cooperation with foreign nations.
