Sri Lanka, Sept. 8 -- Venerable Ampitiye Sumanarathana Thera, remanded over an alleged incident of obstructing the duties of officers at the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau in Batticaloa, was further remanded until the 11th, the Batticaloa Magistrate's Court ordered today (08).

Police arrested the suspect monk yesterday (07) regarding this incident.

Orders were subsequently issued to remand him until today (08) after being produced before the Batticaloa Court.

Accordingly, this order was issued when prison authorities produced the suspect monk before court today (08).

Investigations into the incident are not yet concluded, police informed the court.
