Sri Lanka, Aug. 2 -- Prisons Media Spokesman Commissioner A.C. Gajanayake says the unrest that broke out at Mahara Prison yesterday(01) has now been completely brought under control and the normal situation restored.

He said that the prison's kitchen had been completely destroyed by fire set during the unrest, and that the rehabilitation building opened for inmates yesterday had also been completely destroyed.

He further stated that the Chief Jailer's office had been completely destroyed and the prison hospital has been significantly damaged.
