Sri Lanka, April 20 -- A final-year student from the University of Moratuwa passed away this afternoon (19) after being swept away by a wave while bathing in the Bentota sea.

Police report that the deceased, identified as 25-year-old Kadir Kamanadan Mithusan, resided in the Chunnakam area of Jaffna and studied at the university's Faculty of Engineering. He visited the beach for recreation with two female students from the same university when a strong wave pulled him into the water.
