Sri Lanka, Oct. 7 -- The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) has adopted a resolution on promoting reconciliation, accountability, and human rights in Sri Lanka, despite the country's formal opposition.
Resolution A/HRC/60/L.1/Rev.1 was passed without a vote at the 41st meeting of the 60th session, with 30 nations co-sponsoring the measure.
The text, championed by the Sri Lanka Core Group-including the United Kingdom, Canada, Malawi, Montenegro, and North Macedonia-calls for several key actions from the government in Colombo.
