Sri Lanka, Sept. 3 -- Police say a shooting at a shop in Maligawatta, Colombo, is the result of a dispute between two underworld gangs.
A 28-year-old youth was injured in the attack and is now receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital.
This latest incident brings the total number of shootings this year to 92, with 48 deaths and 54 injuries.
The attack took place today at a three-wheeler spare parts shop on Jumma Masjid Road.
Two gunmen on a motorcycle carried out the shooting using a T-56 firearm before fleeing the scene.
Police believe the owner of the shop is a close associate of the organised crime figure Kanjipani Imran, who is currently living abroad.
