Sri Lanka, Oct. 7 -- Two motorcyclists were injured this morning (7) in a head-on collision involving two motorcycles in the centre of Kotagala town.

The injured riders were admitted to the Kotagala Divisional Hospital, according to police.

The Dimbula Pathana Police reported that the collision occurred when a motorcycle, traveling from Hatton towards Kotagala, attempted to overtake a three-wheeler moving in the same direction.

In doing so, it collided with the second motorcycle, which was approaching from the opposite direction on the road from Talawakelle towards Hatton.

Both motorcycles sustained severe damage in the collision.

Dimbulapathana Police are conducting further investigations.
