Sri Lanka, June 25 -- A revenue inspector and a field worker from the Galle Municipal Council were arrested today (25) by officials from the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption for allegedly soliciting a Rs. 5,000 bribe.

The Commission took action following a complaint from a businessman.

The suspects reportedly demanded the money to expedite the process of paying taxes to the Galle Municipal Council for displaying an advertisement board for a paint shop at a hardware store, and to provide the documentation recording the payment.
