Sri Lanka, Sept. 24 -- The Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court imposed a total fine of Rs. 110,000 on two establishments located in Dehiwela and Dematagoda that engaged in the illegal wholesale distribution of imported baby diapers sold in the market without any essential information such as the registered importer's name, address, or telephone number.

Raids conducted by the Consumer Affairs Authority based on consumer complaints revealed that the relevant diaper stocks were sold in a manner non-compliant with directives.

Accordingly, when the case was called on September twenty-three, 2026, the Dehiwela institution pleaded guilty to the charges and received a fine of 100,000, while the Dematagoda institution received a fine of Rs. 10,000....
