Sri Lanka, Oct. 19 -- The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) has arrested two individuals, including a young woman, for allegedly aiding and abetting Ishara Sewwandi, the alleged chief suspect in the murder of alleged organised criminal Sanjeewa Kumara Samararathna, alias 'Ganemulla Sanjeewa,' to hide and flee the country.
Police Headquarters stated that a team of CCD officers arrested the male and female suspects yesterday (17 October).
The arrested individuals are a 45-year-old resident of the Mathugama area and a 26-year-old woman resident of the Middeniya area.
The two are accused of assisting Ishara Sewwandi in hiding after the murder of Ganemulla Sanjeewa, which occurred at the Hulftsdrop court complex on February 19.
