Sri Lanka, June 25 -- Attorney-at-Law Rakhitha Rajapaksa, son of former Minister and President's Counsel Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe, and Samagi Jana Balawegaya Horana electorate organiser Charith Abeysinghe were produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court a short while ago.

The arrests relate to an alleged Rs. 120 million bribe paid to secure the transfer of underworld figure Nadun Chinthaka, alias "Harak Kata," from detention under the Prevention of Terrorism Act to a regular prison, and to bribe Criminal Investigation Department officers to hold him as an ordinary inmate.

The Bribery Commission further stated that former Airport and Aviation Services Director Aruna Warshavithana was also arrested in connection with the incident. ...
