Sri Lanka, Oct. 3 -- The Western Province Road Passenger Transport Authority (WPRPTA) has taken legal action against 33 bus conductors over a two-day period for failing to issue tickets to passengers.
Gamini Jayasinghe, Chairman of the WPRPTA, confirmed that the enforcement was carried out on Wednesday (1) and Thursday (2).
On Wednesday, authorities inspected 347 buses and identified 22 where tickets were not issued.
Yesterday, they inspected 118 buses and identified 11 such cases.
