Sri Lanka, Oct. 6 -- Vehicular traffic on the Galaha - Deltota road came to a complete standstill after a section of a bridge collapsed due to heavy rainfall.

The right bank section of the bridge collapsed during rain while development work was ongoing at the Galoya Kanuwa culvert on the Peradeniya - Deltota road.

Traffic on the route remains completely halted, and drivers using the road are advised to use alternative routes, police stated.
