Sri Lanka, Oct. 15 -- Sri Lanka Police issued a special clarification regarding a video circulating on social media, in which Thitthagalle Anandasiri Thera stated that an individual who supported the march from Kandy to Colombo in support of imprisoned Galaboda Atte Gnanasara Thera was assaulted with a helmet by a group of people.

Initial investigations conducted into the incident, which occurred within the Weeragula police area, revealed that the relevant video spread false information.

Police stated that Weeragula Police recorded a statement from the individual receiving treatment for injuries at Wathupitiwala Hospital.
