Sri Lanka, July 28 -- Over 1.3 million tourists arrived in the country so far this year.

The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority stated that 1,313,974 tourists arrived in the country from January 01 to July 26.

In the first 26 days of July, 167,401 tourists visited the country.

The highest number of tourists who arrived in July came from India, with that figure recorded at 38,785.

India also accounted for the highest number of tourist arrivals during the elapsed period of the year, with that figure recorded at 310,293.
