Top suspects nabbed in major weapon-drug operation
Sri Lanka, June 17 -- The main suspects linked to a major firearms, ammunition, and drug trafficking operation uncovered in the Dematagoda police area on June 3, were arrested yesterday (16) while hiding at a resort in Kataragama, according to Police Headquarters.
Police said the suspects are a 28-year-old man and a woman from the Wellampitiya area.
During a raid carried out on June 3, officers from the Western Province North Crime Division searched a house in Dematagoda and recovered 19 locally manufactured T-katas firearms, 24 T-56 rounds of ammunition, 100,400 narcotic pills, and 15.2 grams of heroin.
