SriLanka, April 6 -- The Department of Meteorology issued a warning regarding the high probability of thunderstorms accompanied by severe lightning across various parts of the island today (6).

The affected areas include the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Northern, North-Western, and North-Central provinces. Additionally, certain locations within the Galle, Matara, and Trincomalee districts are expected to experience these weather conditions.

Meteorologists forecast that these heavy thundershowers and lightning activities will likely develop after 2:00 PM today.
