Sri Lanka, April 16 -- Rain or thundershowers may occur in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central, Uva, and North-Western provinces after 1:00 pm, according to a statement from the Department of Meteorology.

Light rain is also possible during the morning hours in the coastal areas of the Western and Southern provinces, as well as the Puttalam district. Certain locations within the Sabaragamuwa province and the Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya districts might receive fairly heavy falls exceeding 50 mm.
