Sri Lanka, Sept. 2 -- Favourable atmospheric conditions are developing to produce afternoon thundershowers in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern, and Uva provinces over the coming days, according to the Department of Meteorology.

Several spells of rain may occur in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces as well as in the Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya districts.

A few locations in the Eastern and Uva provinces and the Mullaitivu district may experience showers or thundershowers after 2:00 PM.
