Sri Lanka, July 27 -- Three police constables attached to the Maradana Police have been arrested on allegations of maintaining connections with a known drug trafficker operating in the Maradana area and aiding his illicit activities.

According to police, the arrests were made following a raid conducted by the Colombo Central Divisional Criminal Investigation Division on Panchikawatte Road, Maradana, during which a suspect was apprehended with nearly 12 grams of heroin.

Upon examining the suspect's mobile phone, investigators uncovered voice recordings and communication records linked to the three police constables.

Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of the officers, one of whom has been identified as a drug addict.
