Sri Lanka, Aug. 9 -- Three motorcycle shops in the Hettipola area were fined by the Hettipola Magistrate's Court for selling motorcycles at prices higher than those fixed by dealers and for failing to display the prices of motorcycles kept for sale.

The Consumer Affairs Authority received information indicating that certain parties, taking advantage of the high demand and limited supply conditions in the country's motorcycle market, obtained motorcycles under various individuals' names and later resold them to actual consumers at exorbitant prices.
