Sri Lanka, July 30 -- Officials from the Horowpothana National Park arrested three suspects today (30), during a raid in the Horowpothana area.
They seized an illegally manufactured firearm, two 'hakka patas' (explosive devices), and wire traps.
The raid was conducted by officers from the Horowpothana Wildlife Office based on information received.
The arrests took place in the Bandapuwewa area, which is reportedly part of the Anaolondewa Forest Reserve in Horowpothana.
The arrested suspects are residents of Horowpothana, Parangiyawadiya, Nochchiyagama, and Dunudambuwewa.
Their ages are reported to be 38, 30, and 26.
The suspects and the seized items are expected to be produced before the Kebithigollewa Magistrate's Court.
