Sri Lanka, Sept. 20 -- The Crime Investigation Branch of the Horana Headquarters Police has arrested three suspects, including a woman, for impersonating police officers to intimidate and rob young people and couples visiting the Ellakanda waterfall in Horana.

The suspects, aged 25, 27, and 28, are residents of Dikhenapura in Horana.

They were apprehended while hiding in a house in Govinna, Bulathsinhala, after police reviewed local CCTV footage to identify their physical features following complaints lodged by two youths from Aluthgama and a couple from Kegalle and Dombagoda.

Police recovered two stolen mobile phones valued at approximately Rs.175,000.
