Sri Lanka, April 8 -- The Special Investigation Unit of the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) arrested two women and one man for allegedly defrauding over Rs. 10 million by promising jobs in Albania, Canada, and Japan.

The SLBFE first arrested a woman operating a student visa agency in Maharagama.

Under the guise of this agency, she reportedly swindled over Rs. 10 million by promising employment in Albania and Canada.

Officials raided the premises, which operated without a valid SLBFE license, and seized several documents, including job agreements.

The suspect was produced before the Nugegoda Magistrate's Court and remanded until tomorrow (09).
