Sri Lanka, Sept. 19 -- Ten people were hospitalised after a wasp attack at a fire-walking festival in Badulla yesterday (18).
According to Badulla Police, the incident occurred at the annual fire-walking ceremony at the Siva Subramaniam Temple in Wewelhinna Watte.
A wasp nest on a nearby tree was disturbed by smoke from a fire pit being prepared for the event, causing the wasps to attack devotees.
The victims, both men and women, were admitted to the Demodara and Badulla Teaching Hospitals.
