Sri Lanka, Sept. 28 -- A 14-year-old boy has died after being struck by an express train at Thismalpola railway station in Rambukkana.
Police said the incient occurred when the boy, a resident of Medagama, was hit by a Badulla-to-Colombo express train.
According to reports, the teenager had been travelling with several friends from Rambukkana towards Colombo Fort.
Upon arrival at Thismalpola station, the boy mistakenly stepped onto the tracks instead of the platform while disembarking, where he was hit by the oncoming train.
Rambukkana police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
