Taiwan halts tourist visa for Sri Lankans
Sri Lanka, July 21 -- Tourist visa applications from Sri Lankan nationals will no longer be accepted in accordance with the latest visa policy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) government, the Taiwan Foreign Ministry announced.
Sri Lankan nationals may still apply for a visa if visiting on an official invitation by a government agency of the Republic of China (Taiwan), participating in exchange activities, visiting relatives within the third degree of kinship, conducting business, joining a vessel in Taiwan, or seeking medical treatment, according to a statement issued by the ministry.
Applications under these permitted categories will be processed by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in Chennai or the Taipei Representative Office...
