Sri Lanka, Aug. 9 -- A three-month suspended prison sentence was imposed on a 77-year-old elderly woman who was gambling at home with her two granddaughters and another individual.

Horana Chief Magistrate Lakmini Vidanagamage ordered them 50 hours of community service.

The Magistrate ordered this community service to be implemented at the Uduwara temple located near the house where they reside.

A 77-year-old woman residing in the Uduwara area in Anguruwatota, two daughters of her daughter, and another neighbour received the suspended prison sentences in this manner. These suspects were arrested and produced before court by the Anguruwatota police on August 06.
